Grants Scheme Submission Period Extended
The closing date to receive 2012 RFSA Grants applications has been extended. The final date for receipt at RFSA HQ in Penrith is now Monday April 30, 2012.
This extension was made for various factors including the number of members deployed to assist in the significant flood emergencies across much of northern, southern and western regions of NSW.
“Over the past few days, with the original closing date of Friday 20 April fast approaching, we have received quite a few calls from members saying with the flooding emergencies it just hadn’t been possible for them to prepare their Grants applications”, advised Brian McKinlay, RFSA President.
“So we have made the decision to extend the closing date for Grants applications by 10 days to Monday, April 30.”
“The Grants program is such a valued part of RFSA assistance, we don’t want any of our members to be at a disadvantage due to the efforts they have been involved in to support the community.
“We hope this extension of time greatly assists those who just haven’t been able to prepare their submission to date and thank those who have already completed and submitted their Grants applications. Their receipt is appreciated.” Mr McKinlay said.
The annual Grants program is one of the RFSA’s major initiatives, with the program providing financial assistance to brigades, support groups and districts for items and purposes not covered by direct Government or Council funding such as training equipment like TVs and DVDs, or capital expenditure items like buses and trailers.
Grant funds can be applied for across two tiers. Tier 1 grants are for individual brigades or support groups and can be for items up to $5,500 GST inclusive. A collective of brigades or a district generally apply for the higher threshold of $55,000 GST inclusive available under Tier 2.
