Nominations for 2016 Overseas Deployment Register
Nominations are sought from members wishing to register to be considered for overseas deployment.
Although there are no current requests, the Overseas Deployment Register will ensure that the Service has a list of appropriately qualified personnel who may be considered should a deployment request be received.
All members are welcome to apply, however you must note that a high level of qualification and/or experience is important due to the different operating environments.
› Who can apply?
The Overseas Deployment Register will be utilised should a request be received from overseas agencies or for potential deployment following a significant international disaster. Selection will be based on matching previous experience, qualifications and fitness requirements against the skill sets required for any deployment. For any personnel shortlisted, medical examinations and pack tests will be organised through State Operations. This process, along with any other pertinent conditions, will be fully explained to any personnel selected for deployment.
Applicants must be capable of passing a medical and, depending on the role, undertake the Arduous Pack Test (4.83km walk on level ground within 45 minutes carrying a pack or weight vest of 20.4kg), and be available for deployment for periods of between 4 and 8 weeks. Please refer to the below Guide on Arduous Pack Tests (APT) for further information on what is involved, risks associated, and how one can prepare for the APT.

A current passport with at least 6 months currency at the time of deployment will also be required.
