Curlwaa Volunteers’ Family Day Coming Up
The NSW Rural Fire Service Association (RFSA) is extending an invitation to NSW RFS volunteers, staff and their families from across the Mid Murray and Lower Western Zone to come along to a special Volunteers’ Family Day at Curlwaa Oval on Sunday, 18 May between 11am and 3pm.
Events will include lunch, a lucky ticket draw, the NSW RFSA mobile shop, live music, jumping castle and pony rides for the kids; and it is FREE for members of the NSW RFS and their families.
“Our Volunteers’ Family Days are a great way to show the volunteers how much we appreciate them, said RFSA President Tim Arnott.
“2014 has already been a very busy year and the RFS members in the region and surrounds are an extraordinary group of people who have faced extremely hazardous situations and selflessly given up their time to protect the community around them.
“And at such times, it is often their families who miss out, so these days provide an opportunity to spend some quality family time together, have a chat to fellow NSW RFS members and to also have some fun.
“Members of the RFS Critical Incident Support Team and RFS Chaplain, Kerry Spall, will be in attendance on the day should anyone want to have a chat or need that bit of support.
“The kids will have things to keep them amused and the RFSA team will be there on the day to welcome you. It’s our way of supporting our Members and saying ‘thank you’ to them.
“We hope to see as many members of the RFS as possible making their way to the Curlwaa Oval on Sunday May 18. It will be a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon.”
Members who would like to attend the Volunteers’ Family Day are encouraged to RSVP by Friday, 9 May to:
