2014 Volunteer Memorial Service
The Volunteer Memorial Service honours volunteers of the Emergency Services that have served the community of New South Wales and died as a result of that service.
This year, the service will be held on Sunday, 12 October at the Volunteers Memorial, Mrs Macquarie’s Point. The ceremony will commence at 11am and is to be hosted by the Minister for Police and Emergency Services, The Honourable Stuart Ayres MP.
The service has been held annually since 1999 when former Premier, the Honourable Bob Carr MP, announced at a ceremony at Government House the establishment of the Volunteers Memorial to honour the state’s Emergency Service volunteers and, in particular, those who had lost their lives as a result of that service.
