The RFSA enjoys a substantial, reliable and broad financial base to meet operational and strategic goals. Funds to support NSW Rural Fire Service Association Members are generated through the NSW RFSA Raffles and returns on secure investments.
The principal source of funding to the Association continues to be through the NSW RFSA Raffles, conducted on behalf of the NSW RFSA by telemarketing company, Contact Centres Australia, under the provisions of the Lotteries and Art Union Act 1901 and the Charitable Fundraising Act 1991 (NSW RFSA Authority Number CFN 22439). The NSW RFSA Raffles comply with the requirements of the NSW Department of Gaming and Racing.
The generous support of half a million people across NSW who purchase NSW RFSA Raffle tickets is very much appreciated. It assists in ensuring that all Members of the Rural Fire Service in NSW are represented not only by a competent and professional entity, but also by one that is highly influential in ensuring the voices of 70,000 volunteer firefighters and staff are clearly heard by those in power.
Funds from the NSW RFSA Raffles and investments benefit Members through a number of 'giving' programs that include grants to brigades for operational, amenity and welfare items; subsidised clothing and equipment; web hosting; scholarships and sponsorships.
