COMMITTEE REPRESENTATION
One of the objectives of the RFSA is to ensure that its members have input into the continuing development of the NSW Rural Fire Service. As such, the RFSA has been instrumental in developing previously formed and establishing additional Advisory Committees in consultation with the Service, by utilising the many years of experience of members to have a positive impact.
The Advisory Committees which the RFSA holds representation on are the Communications, Community Education, Learning and Development, Operations and Technical Committees.
The RFSA also has representation on all Statutory Committees, created under legislation by the NSW State Government and includes the Bush Fire Coordinating Committee (BFCC), the Fire Services Joint Standing Committee (FJSC) and the Rural Fire Service Advisory Committee (RFSAC).
The RFSA is represented on the Corporate Executive Group (CEG), the policy advisory committee of the NSW Rural Fire Service.
A major initiative that has been established was the development of the Joint RFSA / RFS Executive Meetings. These meetings allow the RFSA the opportunity to work directly with the Senior Executive Team of the RFS on a number of issues.
In addition, the RFSA is represented on various RFS working parties, the RFS / Local Government Liason Committee and the Australian Assembly of Volunteer Fire Brigade Associations (AAVFBA).
