The RFSA is committed to informing and engaging its Members through a range of programs that provide not only for the welfare and wellbeing of Members, but also that enhance their professional development.
The RFSA achieves these goals through:
- supporting in principal and financially the NSW Rural Fire Service's Counselling and Support and Chaplaincy services
- acknowledging the important role that Members play at the core of emergency services in NSW by organising Volunteers' Family Days
- recognising and rewarding the contribution of Members through its honours and awards program
- providing opportunities for as many Members as possible to enjoy the experiences and professional development gained through a Biennial Conference that focuses on the practical issues that affect the operation of a highly professional and competent rural fire service.
The RFSA established an Honours and Awards Committee as a Standing Committee of State Council. Both internal and external Honours are considered by this Committee.
