The RFSA has a free and complete website package available to all Brigades and Support Brigades within the NSW Rural Fire Service.
Included in the website package is a web hosting facility at no cost to the brigade and the optional use of the Kopage website building program.
The Kopage program allows the user to build a website using templates to create as many tabs and subsections as required. There is also the option to create photo galleries and link to existing online social pages.
Each website is limited to 50MB and the RFSA brigade web hosting Terms of Service must be adhered to at all times. A Web Hosting Agreement must be signed prior to the RFSA providing space for the website and the approval of both the Brigade Captain and Secretary is required.
SFTP (Safe File Transfer Protocol) details will be provided to the nominated website administrator to access the website package, as well as a brigade email account, if required.
The RFS has a Website Service Standard which must also be adhered to. The standard covers appropriate content, approval processes and formatting. A brigade website is a website that is on behalf of the Service so it’s important to understand these obligations.
An example of a website created using the Kopage program can be viewed at http://northshore.rfsa.org.au/. The Association has also produced a manual as a guide to using the Kopage program, to assist the administrator to set up the website.
